Ladies Hooded Zippered Cable Cardigan Shetland wool is among the softest available. It can be spun and plied into various thicknesses of yarn, for weaving and knitting. In Shetland the fleece was traditionally removed, or 'rooed' by plucking with the fingers, close to the skin of the sheep. This was done once a year when sheep naturally shed their outer fleece and thus 'rooing' was assisted by the natural process. Shetland Wool.
